Spiced Brown Sugar Flip
This cocktail recipe requires a little more skill, but it’s well worth it.
Ingredients

- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 oz rum
- 1 oz spiced brown sugar syrup
- Dash plum bitters optional
- Cinnamon and brown sugar for garnish

- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 2 dried cloves

Spiced Brown Sugar Syrup
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and stir on medium heat until sugar dissolves. Let mixture cool and use a fine strainer to remove spices. Makes 9 portions.
Spiced Brown Sugar Flip
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker but do not add ice. Shake briefly and break the seal to release the pressure. Briefly shake again to help froth the egg. Add a scoop of ice and shake once more until the tin gets frosty.
- Pour into a glass or mug, giving the beverage about 10 seconds to settle. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and brown sugar across the top and enjoy.
