This Elderberry Cocktail Requires a Little Patience But It’s Definitely Worth It
The perfect way to add a real dose of health to your cocktail.
An alcohol-based infusion takes fives minutes to prepare and four weeks of patience until it’s ready. But it’s worth it. Making your own infused alcohol is an easy way to add a real dose of health to your beverages. This isn’t a heath-washing of cocktails; this is legit. Elderberries are rich in antioxidants and have long been used in treatments for the influenza virus, among other illnesses.

Elderberry Vodka
- In a clean Mason jar, add elderberries.
- Fill the jaw with vodka.
- Place a small square of unbleached parchment paper over the jar opening; seal with a lid (this will help keep the alcohol from making contact with the plastic lid).
- Give your mixture a shake once or twice a day for 4 weeks.
- Once your infusion is ready, strain out the berries and store the infused alcohol in a dropper bottle to use as a tincture or a jar if using for cocktails.
