What have you done lately?
Janet Jackson sang: “What have you done for me lately?” But, really, what have you done for someone else recently?
Janet Jackson sang: “What have you done for me lately?” But, really, what have you done for someone else recently? With hundreds of WALKs for various cures happening throughout the months of May and June, now is the best time to do for others (and get a great workout as well).
Tomorrow kicks off the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario’s 2008 Walk of Hope, which takes place in 11 communities over the next week. The Canadian Cancer Society has hundreds of Relay for Life happening right now across the country, as well as many Super Cities WALKs for MS and TELUS’ Walk for juvenile diabetes. (More opportunities are listed at Health Events Across Canada.)
There are so many ways to give to others and to give back to our communities. These events, however, give us the opportunity to try something we might not otherwise be inclined to do: give to others, work our body, feed our spirit, support and be supported by hundreds or thousands of likeminded individuals.
Will you be joining one of the walks or runs for a cure? If so, what’s your motivation?
