Sweaty Betty, the UK’s Popular Yoga-Wear Line, Is Now Available in Canada

And there’s good reason to believe it’ll become your new favourite brand for yoga pants.
What do you look for when shopping for yoga pants? Comfort? Functionality? Style? A brand that’s known for all of that, plus an extra perk—“bum-sculpting” capabilities (if you’re into that kind of thing)—is now available in Canada.
Sweaty Betty, the popular UK-based yoga-wear line has finally made its way here via Nordstrom. The brand, over 20 years old, is known for, yes, its leggings, but also for offering a range of bright and bold activewear pieces made from high-quality materials. “We invest a lot of time researching the best fabrics,” says founder and creative director, Tamara Hill Norton. “They have to be technical, durable, and performance enhancing.”

Sustainability is also a key focus for the brand. Some of their leggings are made from recycled plastic bottles, with 17 bottles used to create a single pair. The Italian fleece collection is made out of all-natural fabrics, like bamboo, and their swimwear is made using responsibly-sourced wool.
Back to those leggings—what makes them a cult favourite? “Our all-female design team understands the female form,” says Norton. And they work together to choose comfortable, compressing fabrics and well-considered seamlines that help to “sculpt and lift.”
Sweaty Betty has also thought beyond the gym (or at-home make-shift gyms, à la life in 2020). “It’s made for exploring, adventures and everyday wear.” says Norton. In other words, the perfect investment to get through the lows of pandemic life, and the highs of our post-pandemic escapes.
