Paul Underhill of Victoria was born with cystic fibrosis. The now 44-year-old athlete and entrepreneur created the first formula for his beverage in his own kitchen out of a desire for nutrient-dense fuel.
Out of that was born Rumble Supershakes, which launched in November 2012 in collaboration with Victoria naturopathic doctor Kim McQueen. Each Rumble beverage has 250 calories, 20 grams of protein and 8 g of fibre. A unique proprietary protein blend, combined with other ingredients, including organic flaxseed oil, are what makes Rumble so nutrient dense. The beverages are gluten- and soy-free and contain no artificial ingredients. Pick from two flavours: Dutch Cocoa or Vanilla Maple.
Plus, the Victoria, B.C.-based company is also a member of One Percent for Hunger, a registered non-profit organization. One percent of all Rumble sales are donated to charities that fight hunger.
