Recreate Jennifer Lawrence’s chic Oscar chignon

At last night’s 85th annual Oscars, Hollywood darling and Best Actress in a Leading Role winner Jennifer Lawrence’s dress may have been Dior, but her hairspray? Dove.

The "Silver Linings Playbook" star looked radiant and effortless both on the red carpet and on stage at the Academy Awards last night, even (or especially?) after tripping her way up the steps to accept her award. I can’t stop watching this video, of the down-to earth actress answering press questions following her acceptance speech:

Her unfailingly honest’and brief’explanation of the ‘process’ of getting ready for the show? ("I showered, and then I got my hair & make up done.") So endearing. However, Mark Townsend, her hairstylist for the awards, was a bit more forecoming in providing the details of how to achieve her beauty look for the evening. Townsend, who is a consulting celebrity stylist for Dove haircare, gives these step-by-step directions to recreating the chic chignon Lawrence was sporting:

‘For Jennifer’s Oscars hair style, I started by applying a few drops of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum to her damp hair and combed through. This serum is loaded with natural almond and coconut oils to give the hair extra moisture and shine. Next, I added a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Mousse to her hair and blow dried with a large round brush. To give the hair texture and shine, I added a nickel size of Dove Style+Care Frizz-Proof Cream-Serum in my hands and then raked through the hair. Then, I took random pieces from each side and loosely twisted them and pinned them together at the back of the head with eight bobby pins in crosses. I took the remaining hair and gathered it into a loose playful bun and finished as always with Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray.’
