I recently got my hair cut and my hairdresser, Pablo, styled it with lovely waves. When I looked in the mirror, I felt confident and beautiful. All I needed was a big fan so my hair could have that blowing-in-the-wind look à la Beyonce.
The way my hair looks can have a huge impact on how I feel. If it looks good, it sets the tone for a great day and puts a smile on my face. I’ve always had long hair and I just can’t imagine not being able to run my fingers through it. My heart goes out to women with cancer going through chemo’not only do they have to fight a terrible disease, but they also lose their hair and struggle with body image issues along the way.
That’s why I was so touched by Pantene’s Restore Beautiful Lengths product line. They have partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society to support women fighting cancer by donating real-hair wigs. This line of products is designed to strengthen and protect against damage, and help grow your hair long enough to donate it for a wig. The wigs made can even be styled to look like the patient’s natural locks. It’s a small gift with a big impact.
Want to donate? All you need is a minimum of eight-inches of hair with less than five percent gray that hasn’t been chemically treated. The Pantene Beautiful Lengths site has all the details about how and where to mail in your ponytail.
The next time I feel down about having a bad hair day, I’ll remind myself to be grateful I have my own hair.
