County places obese child in foster care
An 8-year-old Ohio boy was removed from his family’s home and placed in foster care after county case workers determined his mother wasn’t doing enough to reduce his weight. The boy is in third grade and weighs more than 200 pounds. This is the first time a child has been taken from a parent for a strictly weight-related issue, though the state of Ohio estimates more than 12 percent of third-graders are obese. | Cleveland.com

Anorexic woman will receive treatment
A B.C. woman with chronic anorexia nervosa will receive treatment after B.C.’s Ministry of Health confirmed that the province will cover the cost of her long-term treatment for at least two months.
