As Clara Hughes rolls into Saint John, New Brunswick today to talk about the stigma of mental illness, students in Edmonton, Alberta are having a similar conversation. Students at the University of Alberta are raising awareness about potential mental health concerns through the latest issue of their online magazine, Pro Story. The issue, which launched on Monday, is titled ‘Mental Health Matters’ and covers the mental health concerns that many students deal with at this time of year due to mounting stress for assignments and exams. It’s received more than 3,000 views so far, reports metronews.ca.
"Right now we have a stigma around student mental health, University of Alberta and Pro Story co-founder Jimmy Kang told metronews.ca. "I feel like there is room for improvement and room for advocacy.”
