Have you giggled today? How about a chuckle?
A recent study claims that Canadians laugh — get this — a shocking 46 minutes a day. That’s five hours and 22 minutes per week! Where does all that time go?!
Even more surprising, residents of British Columbia laugh the least while Albertans laugh the most. Interesting, since B.C. is home to the top two healthiest cities in Canada, while Calgary and Edmonton rank 3rd and 4th, respectively. (Sorry ladies, I guess laughter takes a backseat to fitness.)
Half of the 2,668 Canadians polled said that laughter was the best way to stay happy and 56 percent confirmed that laughter is the best medicine… especially for stress!
I know that I love to laugh and probably exceed that 46 minutes per day. Or maybe I’m just really stressed and need to laugh that much. What about you? How much time do you spend laughing? How does it impact your day?
P.S. Sunday, May 4, 2008 is World Laughter Day. Indulge yourselves and enjoy a few extra chuckles!
