Kaitlyn Bristowe Talks Big Hair, Beyoncé and The Bachelor

Best Health sat down with The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe to chat about all things hair
We sat down with Kaitlyn Bristowe, former Bachelorette (she’s engaged to Shawn Booth), at the launch of Tresemmé’s new Beauty-Full Volume Reverse Wash System to chat about her love of big hair and her predictions for this season’s finale of The Bachelor.
What have you done in the past to achieve volume in your hair?
I would have tried anything before. Backcombing is my thing. I mean, you can feel my broken hairs from it. I am a religious backcomber. Texture spray, backcombing, extensions, even dry shampoo.
Why do you think we’re so obsessed with big, voluminous hair?
I don’t even feel like it’s a trend. I think it’s always been a thing. My confidence is in my hair. I think of Beyoncé, she has big hair all the time and she’s fierce.
Speaking of Beyoncé, when you think of hair goals, is there anyone who comes to mind?
Beyoncé! Beyoncé for every kind of goal there is basically.
How do you style your hair now?
I had extensions in for so long, I decided to chop it off and go with this [long bob style].
I use the Tresemmé Volume Reverse System Pre-Wash Conditioner and Mousse, which have been working really well for me. I still backcomb a bit but I don’t have to as much anymore. I blow dry with a round brush and a really good trick is that after I blow dry, I’ll flip where I’ve made a part to the other side for extra lift.
Who spends more time on their hair: you or Shawn?
It’s funny how many times that question gets brought up! That alone makes me want to make fun of him. I used to say him but I was trying to poke fun at him. It is me. At the end of the day I do take longer to get ready but he does spend a good amount of time on his hair. That’s why he has great hair.
Switching gears, do you have any predictions for who Ben will choose on the finale of The Bachelor?
I have to try and keep my lips sealed because we know Ben so well and Shawn’s really close with him. Everyone says how natural his chemistry is with Lauren B. But everyone’s mind was all over the place when he said he loved Jojo. So, I don’t know what’s going to happen.
