Growing up in Europe, personal trainer and fitness expert Stephanie Joanne spent her days playing sports with her brother and his friends. All that activity definitely paid off ‘ she now owns her own fitness studio in Toronto, where she trains and mentors clients to build a healthier, happier life.
Learn a little bit more about her in this instalment of ‘it works for me.’
University major: Kinesiology at York University in Toronto
First fitness job: An entry-level training position at a chain of gyms in Toronto.
Goal for the future: I want to create a call to action and start a public conversation about the current state of our overall physical, emotional and mental health.
Most important lesson you teach clients: Taking control of their own health. My role is to be an educator and motivator, however the actual desire has to come from the individual.
Finding time for fitness: I truly believe that it is possible for anyone to find a lifestyle which includes fitness. The challenge is finding the right combination of activities to enjoy.
Healthy living philosophy: I want to challenge people to look within themselves to find their fitness resolution, rather than basing their lifestyle solely on suggestions from others.
