In Vogue magazine’s latest episode of 73 Questions, the model and cookbook author opened up about her four-year marriage to John Legend. Despite living with her mother and being parents to 18-month-old Luna, Teigen says the secret to their marriage’s success is simple: They “keep it sexy.”
She also recommends taking – and we’re assuming, sexting – super sexy photos. (Just be extra cautious with that one.)
There’s also clearly a little bit humour involved as Teigen’s attempt to take a “super sexy photo” involved a set of false teeth.
She also recommends doing things together that you love – and it doesn’t need to cost a fortune. The 31-year-old explains that the couple will often forgo fancy dinners out to stay home together and watch the Real Housewives. (Find out how much sex is considered “normal.”)
And they’re not alone.
The Secret to long-lasting Hollywood marriages
When it comes to Hollywood marriages, there are only a few that have stood the test of time. It’s more likely that a celebrity marriage ends in less than a year than to last longer than 10. The ones that have lasted, seem to have the same idea as Teigen and Legend.
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. (who have been married for 13 years) say their secret is simply “work.” In a 2013 interview, Gellar said, “You have to nurture it and take time with it.”
After 18 years of marriage, Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford also think the secret is in the friendship. Rande told Entertainment Tonight that they started as friends and remained friends – and that they keep that friendship (and fun) in their relationship.
And very much like Teigen, Kelly Ripa believes in sexy photos. Talking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, she said “We try to do spicy things together all the time.” When pressed, she revealed those spicy things include racy pics and “lots of sex.”
