Have you given to your food bank lately? With more than 700,000 Canadians using them each month, our local food banks are in need of our help.
For the month of March, Post is making it easy for you’for every specially marked box of Shredded Wheat you buy, they’ll give another box to the food bank in your community (up to 400,000 boxes total).
"The Shredded Wheat partnership is crucial given that last year nearly half of food banks Canada-wide saw an increase in the number of people needing assistance and we only expect the need to be much greater in 2009," says Katharine Schmidt, Executive Director of Food Banks Canada. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and cereal is one of the most needed items.”
Not a fan of Shredded Wheat, or want to give more than one box of cereal? You can still help’donate online at foodbankscanada.ca to help share with your community in their time of need.
