Feeding the more than 720,000 Canadians who rely on food banks each month gets a little bit tougher in the summer. That’s when food donations are typically lowest.
Today is National Hunger Awareness Day and the Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) is spreading the word, with the support of the Campbell Company of Canada.
Helping out can be as easy as making a food or cash donation to your local food bank. CAFB also offers information on how to host a fundraiser, offer administrative help in a food bank office or help at a food bank warehouse. You can also sign the CAFB petition, calling for a national anti-poverty plan and affordable housing and childcare.
However you choose to help, your contribution will be warmly received!
