I know I’m not supposed to, but sometimes when I’m doing yoga, I peek around the room to check out everyone else’s poses.
When I tried YogaFit, a combination of hatha yoga (my favourite!) and western fitness, I quickly learned that comparing myself to others wouldn’t fly.
I attended the first-ever class at YogaFit’s new Toronto location, in which founder Beth Shaw encouraged us to close our eyes, go at our own pace and most importantly, not compare ourselves to anyone.
I’m naturally competitive, so this aspect of the class was hard for me – but ultimately, I left feeling more confident because of it.
After the class, I browsed the bright, open storefront, which had everything from yoga books to gear and clothing.
My favourite part, however, was that my mood was noticeably boosted after the class. On a rainy Monday night, that’s a definite bonus.
Want to try a free YogaFit class? Check out their schedule – all classes are free for the month of April.
