5 Tips That’ll Help You Feel Good in Quarantine
BH editors rely on this wellness expert's classes for helping them relax and get centred, so they asked the feel-good guru her tips for staying calm and focused.
Amber Joliat (@theamberj) knows a thing or two about how to move. As the founder of Misfit Studio, which is known for unique exercise with roots in yoga, Pilates and dance in Toronto, she has been teaching for more than 30 years.
Joliat’s classes help you de-stress, focus, and even cut negative energy out of your life. Since we can’t take one of her classes her right now, we’ve asked her for tips on how to feel good at home.
Best Self-Care:
Eating clean, drinking tons of water, sleeping enough, having a beautiful skin care ritual and meditating each morning.
Best Advice:
Always trust your intuition.
Best Zen:
Meditation is my go-to for feeling clear and connected. (Meditation can also make you more productive.)
Best Mantra:
These days, I use the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr as my mantra: Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
Best Way to Deal:
I believe that physical movement that inspires strength and grace, when practised with presence, can untangle all the emotional knots we hold within.
