Fashion news: Target officially arrives in Canada

BH Associate Beauty & Fashion Editor, Jennifer Masseau, and I headed to the launch of Target Canada’s new store at Shoppers World Danforth in Toronto last night’and what a night it was!

The splashy event had a few surprise celebrity guests: Blake Lively, who checked out the store’s beauty section, and Sarah Jessica Parker (pictured above), who looked very fresh in a blazer pinned with oversized pink and crimson silk flowers. Canadian actress and Happy Endings star Elisha Cuthbert also made an appearance, and even got to pose with Target’s adorable four-legged mascot, Bullseye, on the red carpet (see below).

The event celebrated the opening of the first Target stores in Canada, which carry everything from fashion, beauty and personal care products to home décor, groceries, sporting goods and more. The upscale discount retailer is hugely popular in the U.S.; the company plans to open 124 stores in Canada this year. While I was possibly the only person who left empty handed (the ottoman I was coveting was too heavy to lug home), Jen Masseau picked up a colourful table runner ($17), necklace ($25) and earrings ($8).
