Looking for something to do? Check out Cliffwalk, travel the world without leaving Canada, meet up with some Greek cooks, or attend a skin cancer fundraiser.

Walk off a cliff

North Vancouver

June 3

If you’re in for a bit of adventure, check out the official opening of Cliffwalk on the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver, BC. The 122-year-old bridge takes you 300 feet (90 metres) above the Capilano River, winding through the rainforest. The attraction has also partnered with the David Suzuki Foundation to teach the cliffwalkers about water, granite, salmon, flora and fauna.

Travel the world

June 3 – 5

Mississauga

Visit over 60 cities, without leaving Canada, with the Carassauga Festival of Cultures. It’s a great way to taste delicious ethnic foods, check out the unique works of talented artisans, watch cultural dancing and much more. It’s happening across the city of Mississauga.

Try a Greek recipe! Oi!

Montréal

June 1, 5 p.m.

The Greek diet is one of the world’s healthiest regimens, consisting of good fats and lean proteins, and has been shown to improve blood cholesterol levels. Cookbook authors and sisters Betty, Eleni and Samantha Bakopoulos will be at the Chapters Centre-ville in Montreal signing copies of their cookbook Three Sisters Around the Greek Table.

Think about skin health

Vancouver

June 7, 7 am

Thankfully the nicer weather is starting to hit us. And now that it’s officially shorts and tanks season, you’ll have to take extra caution with exposed skin. The Save Your Skin Foundation is hosting a fundraising breakfast at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, as part of its skin cancer awareness program. For tickets and information please contact Marion Pérole at 604-734-4223 or by email.
