If you’re looking for a fun fitness event to try this weekend, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation is holding a unique fundraiser called Dance to Conquer Cancer.
The event takes place on Sunday (Feb. 12), in Woodbridge, Ont, and begins at noon with Disco Days’a 4 hour Disco-a-thon with dance lessons led by Ann Rohmer, choreographer Blake McGrath and fitness guru Richard Simmons. After 6 p.m. participants will dance under a spinning disco ball for the second half of the event, Boogie Nights, which includes a performance by Gloria Gaynor.
According to the foundation, 40 percent of Canadian women and 45 percent of Canadian men will face a cancer diagnosis. With the Dance to Conquer Cancer event, the hospital hopes to raise $500,000. As of today that goal was more than 90 percent achieved.
Join the cause! Because, really, how fun would it be to dance with Richard Simmons?
