DuWop Foundation of Youth

Yesterday I met with beauty writer and blogger Kristen Vinakmens (check out her product reviews on her site www.sugarshockbeauty.com). She reminded me of recent beauty industry reports of brisk sales of foundation during the recession, but not a bump in lipstick as predicted. And that reminded me of a foundation that I’ve been enjoying using lately. DuWop Foundation of Youth comes in a squeeze tube with a brush attached.

Makeup artists vary in opinion about the best way to apply foundation. Some swear by the warmth of the fingertips, others say foundation is sponge-worthy, and still others say that a foundation brush is the route to flawless finish. Portability is a sell point with this product, along with the great texture, and I’m kind of partial to the slight scent, too’in other words, I like the total experience. That it contains anti-aging treatments and is paraben-free doesn’t hurt either.

All this reminded me of the the visit we had to our office a while back from the founder of DuWop, Cristina Bartolucci. The L.A. based makeup artist is known for her innovative products and she did not disappoint as she proceeded to brandish a body bronzer called Revolotion [sic] and apply it all over her arms, explaining it’s the rage among Hollywood actresses. Revolotion I’ll leave to the red-carpet girls. In the meantime, Foundation of Youth is a new favourite and I kind of like that it says "made in Canada" on the tube too.
