There has been a lot in the media recently regarding vitamin D and its benefits in cancer prevention. I never really paid too much attention to it, as I am outside daily, eat a really good diet, and usually travel to two warm vacation hot spots per year, so I thought my levels should be fantastic. My family doctor is screening all of her patients when they go in for their annual checkups, and guess what: I was really, really low in vitamin D. The doctor said that most of her patients are — the only ones with healthy readings have been the elderly who have been taking supplements.
So, if you haven’t been tested for vitamin D, go and have it done, and read these articles – they’re most interesting, to say the least. Of course, discuss all of this with your doctor!!

Lastly, the vitamin D you want to take is D3, and the "gel/liquid" or drops work better then the caplets. And remember to take them with food.
