Cadbury Dairy Milk goes Fair Trade

Cadbury’s been on a do-gooder roll this month. First, they launched charitable giving program One For Me, One For You‘accessible at oneforme.ca and oneforyou.ca‘which gives Canadians the chance to enter to win one of more than 200 instant prizes (like gift cards or even laptops and mp3 players) and a grand prize of $100,000. The charitable part? For each prize, an associated charity wins, too‘for instance, an instant prize win of an Indigo gift card is associated with a donation to World LIteracy Canada. And the winner of the grand prize gets to donate another $100,000 to the participating charity of their choice. The only catch? You need a Cadbury UPC code to enter.

To get that UPC code, you might consider picking up a bar of Dairy Milk chocolate, which is on its way to becoming Canada’s first major Fair Trade Certified chocolate bar. Cadbury announced this week that as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting fair trade, their entire Dairy Milk line (from the big 200g bars down to the mini Halloween-size treats) will be made from Fair Trade Certified chocolate. The groundwork is starting now, and they intend to ship the first certified bars next summer.
