This week I was treated to a manicure at Toronto’s Tips Nail Bar, to try out Revlon’s newest spring nail colours. The Top Speed Nail Enamel shade range consists of moody-yet-neutral shades of gray, moss green, and nude, puntuated by bright pops of pink, orange, blue and teal, all promising to dry in 30 seconds, tops. With so many pretty colour options, how’s a girl to choose?
The answer: Instead of trying to narrow it down to just one, pick two! A trend that started on the fashion runways last fall for this spring’s designer collections, the "half moon mani" is perfect for an indecisive colour-lover like me. The first shade is painted in an arch on just the bottom third of the nail, and the second finishes off the tips. The result is a fresh, modern take on the idea of the classic French manicure.
This time around, I chose to pair Chili (a fiery orange) with Cloud (a soft blue-gray)’ but the combinations are endless: nude with charcoal? Pink with blue? Moss green with gold? At just $6.50 a pop for a bottle of Revlon polish, you can afford to experiment with as many combos of their 32 shades as you’d like.
