Yoga traveller
Find a yoga class wherever you are with Lululemon’s Om Finder. The app allows you to search for classes by city, and includes studio reviews and tips from local yogis. You can also invite friends to join you, and there are schedule reminders. Use the map feature to find the easiest route to each studio. It’s in the Apple store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
A caring app
StandWith is a new app from Vancouver’s Yael Cohen, 27, the founder and CEO of F**k Cancer. She started the non-profit in 2009 after her mom was diagnosed with (and survived) breast cancer. The app helps carers plan the tasks involved when a loved one becomes a patient. You can share patient progress with supporters, too. It’s in the Apple store.
Nutrition information at your fingertips
The Food Wiki is an online database of food product information, and lists more than 40,000 products and 2,000 brands available across the Canadian marketplace. Information on each food product includes a full nutrition label, product attributes, certifications, potential allergens and the country of origin. You can also share your thoughts about a product that you’ve tried.
