The Unicorn Frappuccino tastes like a creamy, mango-white mocha. Plus it’s topped with all of the artificial sugars, colours and flavours you were never allowed to have as a kid.
Here’s what Starbucks has to say about the new drink: “The Unicorn Frappuccino blended crème is made with a sweet dusting of pink powder, blended into a crème Frappuccino with mango syrup and layered with a pleasantly sour blue drizzle. It is finished with vanilla whipped cream and a sprinkle of sweet pink and sour blue powder topping.” Hmmm…. what exactly is pink and blue powder?
If you can already feel a lingering sugar crash, just wait, because there’s more…
“Give it a stir and its colour changes to pink, and the flavour evolves to tangy and tart. The more swirl, the more the beverage’s color and flavours transform.” You read that right: This drink actually changes colour.

Although we think that most people will just be ordering the new frapp for the photo opp more than for a meal’s worth of calories, you don’t have to be a registered dietitian to know that this isn’t the healthiest of treats.
No matter what type of milk you take, a 16.oz grande size of the Unicorn Frappuccino will have more than 50 grams of sugar. That’s the equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar, which is twice the amount of the recommended maximum of six teaspoons of sugar per day, according to the World Health Organization.
