Summer trend: Get gorgeous red hair

Red hair is hot this summer, according to Clairol consulting colourist Christopher Martin. "What I’m seeing at the salon, on the runway and with some of my clientele is that red hair is all the rage in Canada and globally," he says. "Scarlett Johansson was the most drastic red hair transformations we have seen this season."

‘ The right shade will be warm and flattering and will create a halo effect for your facial features. The wrong shade will highlight bumps and blotches.

‘ Cooler tones are best suited to fair skin. Try a ‘Medium Reddish Blonde’.

‘ Medium skin tones should stick to medium red shades. Try a ‘Medium Auburn’.

‘ Olive-skinned redheads should avoid bright reds and oranges. Try a ‘Dark Auburn’.
